Part B, Phrase 4

Bowing:
- Start the first slur around the mid-point, or just below it. The first note gets some emphasis, so apply a little extra down pressure and bow speed at the beginning of the stroke. You'll use quite a bit of bow and end up maybe a quarter of the length from the tip.
- The second slur should use just a little less bow, even though it has the value of three 8th notes, so you'll end up around the middle of your bow.
- Bow the three notes beginning the last measure down, up, down--using a little extra bow on the first note and very little bow on the second one. The last note in the measure covers the value of two 8th notes, so you'll end up down below the mid-point.
- Saw Stroke: This phrase begins and ends with an up bow.
Fingering:
- Nothing new here. Just remember to leave your 1st finger down when you bring your 2nd finger down on the D string.
